Perry's school is selling tickets to a play on the first day of ticket sales the school sold 8 adult tickets and 7 child's tickets for a total of 168 the school took in 308 on the second day by selling 14 adult tickets and 14 child tickets what is the price each of one adult ticket and one child ticket?

    (1) 8x+7y=168

    (2) 14x+14y=308 - > 7x+7y = 154 (divide both side by 2)

    (1) - (2) - >x=$14->y=$8
