David and Ryan go to the movie theater and purchase refreshments for their friends. David spends a total of $24.75 on 3 bags of popcorn and 5 drinks. Ryan spends a total of $33.00 on 9 bags of popcorn and 4 drinks. Write a system of equations that can be used to find the price of one bag of popcorn and the price of one drink. Using these equations, determine and state the price of a drink, to the nearest cent.

    David: 3p + 5d = $24.75

    Ryan:. 9p + 4d = $33.00

    -9p - 15d = - $74.25

    9p + 4d = $33.00

    -11d = - $41.25

    d = $3.75 one drink

    3p + $18.75 = $24.75

    3p = $6.00

    p = $2 for one bag of popcorn
