How do you subtract 9 2/6 - 6 5/6

    Well, first you would multiply the full number (9 and 6) by the denominator of the fraction (9*6 and 6*6). you would get 54 and add it to the numerator of the fraction getting 56/6 and 41/6. You would then subtract the 2 numerators from each other getting 15/6. Finally you would simplify the number to get 2 and 1/2 (3/6)

    2 4/6 ... you subtract 2/6 from 5/6 but you have to borrow from the 9 so the 9 turns into 8 and u add 6/6 to 2/6 and u get 8/6 so now you subtract 5/5 - 8/6=1/6. now you subtract 8-6 ad u get 2 so you get 2 4/6
