    Reason:

    Move - 2x to the left side

    Move + 5 to the right side

    When switching a number form one side of the equation to the other, it changes the sign. - 2x would be + 2x, whole + 5 would be - 5.

    The new equation would look like this.

    -4x+2x = - 5-1

    -2x=-6

    Then you divide by - 2x

    x=3
