How to solve 2x+8=6-x

    You subtract 8 from both sides. 2x=-2-x

    then you add x to both sides. 3x=-2

    then you divide each side by 3. x=-2/3

    2x + x = 6 - 8

    3x = - 2

    x = - 2/3
