Cassandra went trick-or-treating on Tuesday with her little brother. Every house they visited they each got two pieces of candy. When they returned home after 2 hours, their mother had extra candy and gave Cassandra 10 pieces and her brother received 5 pieces. Write an equation that represent y, Cassandra's total amount of candy she received that evening after visiting x number of houses

    number you get from houses=number of houses times get per hours=x times 2=2x

    number total=got from house+got from mom

    the number that brother received is irrelevant to this quesiton

    got from mom=10

    got from house=2x

    total=y

    y=2x+10 is the answer
