when Thomas looks at a map of hiking trail with the scale factor of 1cm = 50m, he says that the length of the trail on the map should be 1/50 the length of the actual trail. Explain whether Thomas is correct or incorrect.

    Answer:Thomas is incorrect because there are 100 centimeters in 1 meter. Therefore, there are 5000 centimeters in 50 meters. The length of the map trail would be 1/5000 the length of the actual trail
