4r-2-3r-1=8
r-3=8
r = 8+3
r = 11

Simplify each term.
4r-2-3r-1=8
Add 4r and - 3r to get r.
r-2-1=8
Add - 2 and - 1 to get - 3.
r-3 = 8
Since - 3 does not contain the variable to solve for, move it to the right-hand side of the equation by adding 3 to both sides.
r=3+8
Add 3 and 8 to get 11.
r=11
r is equal to 11
