    5 (3x-7) = 20 solve for x

    3x - 7 = 20/5

    3x - 7 = 4

    3x = 4 + 7

    3x = 11

    x = 11/3

    If x = 11/3, then 6x-8 = 6 * 11/3 - 8 = 22 - 8 = 14 ← answer

    5 (3x-7) = 20

    15x-35 = 20

    15x = 55

    x = 55/15

    now but 55/15 in (6x-8)

    6 (55/15) - 8 =

    22-8 = 14
