Julie is running the concession stand for a swim team. She needs to buy supplies for the next swim meet. She has one item left to buy and she has $55 left to spend. She wants to purchase cartons of apple juice and each one costs $3.75. Write an inequality that models the problem and then find how many cartons of apple juice she can purchase with the money she has to spend. Assume she cannot purchase a fraction of a carton.

    55 > / 3.75x

    divide 55 on both sides

    x = 14 cartons of apple juice
