The table represents a function.

    -2 1

    0 4

    3 - 2

    To find the value of f (-2):

    f (-2) means the value of f (x) for the corresponding x value - 2.

    In the table, if the x value is - 2, then f (x) is 1.

    See the value of f (x) which correspond to x = - 2.

    Hence f (-2) = 1.
