20% of something that equals to 100 is 500 because 1/5 of 500 is 100

100 is 20% of 500
We have, 20% * x = 100 or, 20/100 * x = 100 Multiplying both sides by 100 and dividing both sides by 20,
we have x = 100 * 100/20 x = 500
If you are using a calculator, simply enter 100*100:20, which will give you the answer.
