When modeling hourly pay which part of the equation is used to represent a signing bonus?

    X=hourly pay

    y=signing bonus/extra fee

    c=total amount made/cost

    If john makes $10 an hour plus a $20 bonus for each day then

    10x+20=c

    In most equations/situations the number without the variable is the flat fee/signing bonus.
