A fraction is a short way to write a division problem. Where you see a fraction, it means (the top number) divided by (the bottom number).
When you actually DO the division, the number you get is the decimal form of the fraction.

You get the fraction and turn it into a decimal then move the decimal 2 times to the right (for example 1/4 =.25=25%)
