A singer has 20 pairs of earrings, plus another 5 individual earrings which don't have a match. One morning she reaches into her drawer without looking and pulls out a random earning. What is the probability that the earring she pulls out is part of a pair of earnings (and thus has a match) ? Assume each earring has an equal chance of being pulled out of the drawer. Your answer should be a fraction in lowest terms.

    Step-by-step explanation:

    20 pairs = 40 individual

    5 individual = 40+4=45 individual

    45 individual and 45 in total=

    40 over 45
