The brothers Nimrah and Agom split their harvest in half, so both brothers could recieve an equal amount. Nimrah thought it that Agom should recieve more so during the night Nimrah took 1/3 of his share of the harvest and put it in Agom's pile. The next night Agom also had the same thought, so he quietly went out to take 1/3 from his pile and put it in Nimrah's pile. Did both brothers have the same amount of harvest?

    When the split their harvest in half:

    Nimrah ⇒ 1/2

    Agon ⇒ 1/2

    Nimrah gave 1/3 of his share:

    ⇒ 1/3 x 1/2 = 1/6

    Now,

    Nimrah ⇒ 1/3 - 1/6 = 1/6

    Agon ⇒ 1/2 + 1/3 = 5/6

    Agon gave 1/3 to Nimrah:

    ⇒ 1/3 x 5/6 = 5/18

    Now,

    Nimrah = 1/6 + 5/18 = 8/18 = 4/9

    Agon = 5/6 - 5/18 = 10/18 = 5/9

    Answer: NO, they do not have the same amount. Nimrah has 4/9 and Agon has 5/9.
