From right to left is ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, ten thousands. Then look at the hundreds spot and determine if it's 5 and above or below 5. If the hundreds spot is above 5 then the thousands spot rises up by 1 (7 to an 8, or a 3 to a 4). If the hundreds spot it a number under 5 then the thousands spot will remain the same. When you determine if the thousands place will stay the same or not that's when you can replace the ones, tens, and hundreds places with zeros.
