A neck tie costs t dollars. a jacket costs 5 times as much as the neck tie. a shirt costs $8 more than the neck tie. how much more does the jacket cost than the shirt.

    Neck tie = $t

    jacket = $5t

    shirt = $ (8+t)

    5t - (8+t)

    =5t-8-t

    =5t-t-8

    =4t-8 (answer)
