If you have two fractions and the denominator (bottom number) is the same number like 3/4 and 1/4 those have like denominators. But if they do not have like denominators you will need to simplify to get like denominators.

If you have multiple fractions and if in both of the fractions the bottom number (denominator) are both the same number that yes they would be considered like denominators if the bottoms numbers aren't the same they are not unless you can simplify the fraction to get like denominators
