    1) Subtract 6 from both sides.

    -3x > - 2 - 6

    2) simplify - 2 - 6 to - 8.

    -3x > - 8

    3) Divide both sides by - 3

    x < - 8/-3

    4) two negatives make a positive

    x < 8/3
