    2 Factor out the GCF. Put the GCF as the first term

    2. Then, in parentheses, divide each term by the GCF

    2 (2e 2 + 8f 2)

    3. Simplify each term in parentheses

    2 (e+4f)

    You can undistribute the 2 in both

    2e+8f=

    use reverse distributive property

    ab+ac=a (b+c)

    2e+8f=2 (e+4f)
