First, you can distribute the - 2 to 1 - 7n
the new equation is 5n + 34 = - 2 + 14n
then, you can add 2 to both sides to cancel the - 2 on the right
now you have 5n + 36 = 14n
after this, you add - 5n to both sides, again, to cancel the 5n on the left
you are left with 34 = 9n
lastly, divide both sides by 9 to find the value of n, which is 4.
