    tasha is correct because

    We can write the GCF for each number as

    120=2x2x2x3x5

    36=2x2x3x3

    GCF = 2x2x3=12

    we then can write out 120-36 is (12 x 10) - (12 x 3) - 12 (10-3)

    Tasha is correct. This is what the distributive property is all about.

    120 - 36 = 12·10 - 12·3 = 12· (10 - 3)
