Sunnie had a birthday party where she received three gifts from every guest that came. Her family also gave her an additional 12 gifts before her party. If she received 57 gifts, how many guests were at her party?

    Let's assume that the guests are x

    and she received

    57-12 gifts from the guests

    57 - 12 = 45

    she received 3 * x gifts from the guests

    3x = 45

    x = 45/3

    x = 15

    Therefore Sunnie had 15 guests at her party

    15 guests because 57 minus 12 is 45 then you divde 45 by three to get 15
