The ratio of red to blue pencils in a box is 3:8. If there are 104 blue pencils, how many red pencils are there?

    There are 39 red pencils. If the ratio is 3:8 and you have 104 blue you had to multiply the 8x13 to get to 104. Now you have to multiply the 3 x 13 to keep the ratio the same.
