Benjamin writes an expression for the sum of 1 cubed, 2 cubed and 3 cubed. What is the value of the expression?

    So the "sum" means to add all of the terms: 1³ + 2³ + 3³

    1³ is simply 1

    2³ is 8

    3³ is 27

    so, from there, you just add all of those terms: 1 + 8 + 27 = 36
