A pan has an original price of $32 but is marked down by 15 percent. Which equation shows the new price of the pan?

    The answer would be 0.85*32. Or, you could write it as 0.85 (32). Since they took of 15% of the price, you are really only paying 85% of what the price is. The person buying the pan would pay $27.20.
