X x 10% = 20. you want to find 100% first. 100/10 = 10. 20 x 10 = 200. now you have x. the easiest way to find 23% is to find 1%, then multiply it by 23. to find 1%, you take 200.0 and move the decimal to the left twice. 1% = 2. 2 x 23 is 46. 23% of x = 46.
