Volume is a measure of how much space an object takes up. For example two shoe boxes together have twice the volume of a single box, because they take up twice the amount of space. How it is measured is different ways it depends on the situation for example Measuring the Volume of Solids. The volume of solids is expressed in cubic measurements, such as cubic centimeter or cubic meter. Here are examples of ways to measure solids: Rectangular prism - Multiply the measurement of the length times the width, then times the height.
