The Dependent Variable is what is being measured. The Independent Variable is, in a way, the thing that you cannot necessarily control; it works "independently."

The height of the tree is being measured, so that is the Dependent Varible.

Time will go on independently, regardless of the other varibles.

    The answer is D.
