Use the distributive property to write 5x3 plus 5x6 another way

    5 (3 + 6) would actually be the correct way

    5*3 + 5*6

    What we can do is a sort of "reverse distribute property" known as factoring. Both are divisible by 5, so we can pull a 5 out like so:

    5 (3+6)
