    The distance around the outside of the rug is equal to the perimeter of the rug (perimeter of circle)

    Calculate the perimeter

    p = π * d

    p = 3.14 * 3 1/2

    p = 3.14 * 3.5

    p = 10.99

    The distance is 10.99 yards
