    Part a)

    The shape of the pool is rectangular prism, so the volume of the pool will be:

    Volume = Length x Width x Depth

    Volume = 6 x 3 x 1 = 18 cubic meters

    Density of water = 1 gram per cubic centimeter

    Density of water = 1,000,000 gram per cubic meter

    Density of water = 1000 kilogram per cubic meter

    Mass, volume and density are related by the following equation:

    Mass = Density x Volume

    Using the values, we can write:

    Mass of water in pool = 1000 x 18 = 18,000 kilogram

    Part b)

    Mass of water added to pool = 6000 kilograms

    Density of water = 1000 kilogram per cubic meter

    Volume = Mass/Density

    Volume of water in the pool = 6 cubic meter

    Since Volume = Length x Width x Depth

    6 = 6 x 3 x Depth

    ⇒ Depth = 1/3 meters
