Altitude of a pyramid is the perpendicular distance from the vertex to the plane of the base. Base can be regular or irregular in pyramid. In regular pyramid, altitude and the slant height of a pyramid are not the same as the slant height is the length of the face of the pyramid. Altitude meets the base at its center.
