    720 miles

    Why?

    Let x represent the number of miles your trip is in total.

    Therefore, this is your expression;

    0.35x = 252

    35 percent of your total miles is how much you've driven so far, 252 miles.

    Now, switch the equation around so that x is by itself.

    x = 252/0.35

    x = 720

    Therefore, the total number of miles your trip is is 720 miles.

    Check:

    0.35 (720) = 252
