    Simplify the following:

    3^3 + 3 (4 + 1/3)

    Put 4 + 1/3 over the common denominator 3. 4 + 1/3 = (3*4) / 3 + 1/3:

    3^3 + 3 (3*4) / 3 + 1/3

    3*4 = 12:

    3^3 + 3 (12/3 + 1/3)

    12/3 + 1/3 = (12 + 1) / 3:

    3^3 + 3 (12 + 1) / 3

    12 + 1 = 13:

    3^3 + 3*13/3

    3*13/3 = (3*13) / 3:

    3^3 + (3*13) / 3

    (3*13) / 3 = 3/3*13 = 13:

    3^3 + 13

    3^3 = 3*3^2:

    3*3^2 + 13

    3^2 = 9:

    3*9 + 13

    3*9 = 27:

    27 + 13
