    Let x be the growth factor. Ao be the initial male students attended college, and A is the current male students attended college

    since there is an increase by 250 male students

    then A = A0 + 250

    A = 25,000 + 250

    A = 25250

    and the formula of A

    A = A0x

    x = A / A0

    x = 25250 / 25000

    x = 1.01 is the growth factor
