Suppose a triangle has two sides of length 42 and 35, and that the angle between these two sides is 120. What is the length of the third side of the triangle?

    Using cosine rule, the required side is given by:

    sqrt (42^2 + 35^2 - (2 x 42 x 35 x cos 120))

    = sqrt (1764 + 1225 - (-1470))

    = sqrt (2989 + 1470)

    = sqrt (4459)
