    Constant of proportionality?

    I can find the rate of change

    ok, so find first hose rate of change

    gallons/minue=318/58=159gal/29min

    y=159/29x for first hose

    2nd hose

    50% faster

    times 3/2

    477/58=2nd hose

    constant of poroprotinality

    y=kx

    assuming y=amount and x is the time

    add the rates

    159/29+477/58=795/58=13.7

    so the new one would be

    y=13.7x

    constant is 13.7
