In science, when a force moves an object, it's called work. Scientists use the term to describe the amount of force applied to an object that moves that object. Work is measured in a unit called joules using the formula W = fd. In this formula, W is the work, f is the force in newtons, and d is the distance over which the force is applied in meters. If applying 6 newtons of force to an object results in 42 joules of work, what distance (in meters) would the object travel?

    42/6 = 7, W=f^d, 42=6^f, 42/6=f, f=6.
