    Vertex form = 2 (x^2 + 8x + 17/2) = 2 (x^2 + 8x + 16 + 17/2 - 16) = 2 (x^2 + 8x + 16) + 2 (-15/2) = 2 (x + 4) ^2 - 15.

    Therefore, vertex form is 2 (x + 4) ^2 - 15
