    5 (2x - 1) - (3x + 4) = 4 (x + 3) - 27

    5 (2x) - 5 (1) - 3x - 4 = 4 (x) + 4 (3) - 27

    10x - 5 - 3x - 4 = 4x + 12 - 27

    10x - 3x - 5 - 4 = 4x - 15

    7x - 9 = 4x - 15

    - 4x - 4x

    3x - 9 = - 15

    + 9 + 9

    3x = - 6

    3 3

    x = - 2
