Angie is 4 years younger than her sister. in 2 years, angie's sister will be twice as old as angie. how old is angie now? i need an equation for this, and i've come up with several, but none of them seem to be correct.

    A + 4 = s

    2 (a+2) = (s+2)

    plug in the upper equation into the lower equation

    2 (a+2) = (a+4+2)

    2a+4 = a+6

    a+4 = 6

    a = 2 years old

    Angie is 2 years old and angies sister is 6 in 2 years angie will be 4 and angies sister will be 8 the equation is what the other person said.
