Distance to cover for reaching the beach = 25 miles

    Now

Time taken by Kim to drive a distance of 9 miles = 12 minutes

    So

Time taken by Kim to drive a distance of 25 miles = (12/9) * 25 minutes

    = 300/9 minutes

    = 33.33 minutes

So now we come back to the case of Jai

Time taken by Jai to cover a distance of 10 miles = 15 minutes

    Then

Time taken by Jai to travel a distance of 25 miles = (15/10) * 25 minutes

    = 375/10 minutes

    = 37.5 minutes

So we can see that Kim will reach the beach first as her speed of driving is faster than Jai. I hope the procedure is clear enough for you to understand. Kim will reach the beach first.
