What is the difference of 5 and 2/5

    So, change 5/1 denominator into 5, multiply the top and the bottom by 5

    5/1 = 25/5

    now, when subtracting fractions, you subtract the top from the top and the denominator stays the same

    25/5 - 2/5 = 23/5
