Mrs. Walters drove 360 miles on 25 gallons of gas. Mr. Walters drove 480 miles on 32 gallons of gas.

    I think what you would do here is divide the gallons by the miles. In that case, Ms. Walters got 14.4 miles per gallon, and Mr. Walters got 15 miles per gallon. Mr. Walters had a better mileage per gallon by 0.6 miles.
