X + y = 10

2x = 2y+4

2x/2 = 2/2y+4/2

x = y + 2

x+y = 10

y+2+y=10

2y + 2 = 10

2y + 2-2 = 10-2

2y = 8

2y/2 = 8/2

y = 4

x + y = 10

x + 4 = 10

x + 4-4 = 10-4

x = 6

2 (6) = 2 (4) + 4
