    Total cost would be 35.23

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Given:

Total Gasoline bought = 15.25 gallons

    Price per gallon = 2.31

    To find:

Total cost of gallons to nearest hundred = ?

    Solution:

We are given that total gasoline bought and price of per gallon so we could find out the value of total cost of gallons by

Total cost = Price per gallon * total Gallons bought

As we have both the values so putting them

    Total Cost = 15.25 * 2.31

    = 35.2275

So total cost would be 35.2275

Now in case of decimal numbers the rounding off will be done in the way the first number to the right of the decimal is tenth value second no is hundredth value

    Now

    Our Hundredth value is 2

To its right we have 7 which is greater then 5 so 2 will be rounded of to 3

    so

    Total cost would be 35.23
