Working together, two people can cut a large lawn in 44 hr. One person can do the job alone in 1 hr less than the other. How long would it take the faster person to do the job?

    Turn the word problem to an algebraic one. OK, so two people in forty four hours means 44/2 and the one less than means - 1 so if you make each person a variable then guy one is x and guy two is y; therefor it's 44=, man i'm tired the answer is 23.
