it's easier to use a decimal

percent means parts out of 100

    x/100=x%

if you have a decimal, just move the decimal place to the left 2 places

if you have a fraction, try to get the denomenator equal to 100, or divide it out and move the decimal place to the left 2 places

using a decimal is easier to find percent
